The KWJ 355 Municipal Transformer Tester. Incipient faults in oil-filled high-powered electrical transformers can be detected by observing increases in combustible gas concentration in the nitrogen cushion over the oil. An indication of total combustibility with portable combustible gas detection is a practical method of determining that gas evolution, due to local heating and decomposition of oil or insulation, has occurred. Periodic checks will show when the gas concentration is increasing, and a transformer with an incipient fault can thus be recognized and removed from service before an actual failure occurs. Model 355 is a modification of the RKI Model GP-204, equipped with a dilution orifice producing a dilution of one part air to one part sample, to enable detection of combustible gas in a nitrogen environment. Contact us to request full specifications and pricing.
