KWJ’s original mission was to undertake gas detection research and development challenges that, for whatever reason, larger instrument manufacturers chose not to tackle. Many of these same instruments became OEM products, forming numerous business partnerships with a wide variety of distributors and manufacturers.

MARCO USA: KWJ developed Carbon Monoxide monitors, remote strobes, and remote alarms for the Marco Blastmaster and Fortress, two specialized supplied air monitors used by industrial coatings, blasting, and construction and service companies worldwide. These use rugged and durable components backed by service and reliability for the oilfield, chemical, hazmat, biogas, and remediation industries.

SATA/DANAM: The custom body and paint shop specialty airbrush manufacturer SATA requested KWJ provide the Carbon Monoxide detection component to their existing supplied air respiratory systems. The 767 Plus and 767 BAT, manufactured to CSA standards, were designed to detect one ppm CO in a compressed air-stream, and alarm at user determined set points. Easy to maintain and backed by a multiyear warranty, both units provide years of service with minimal maintenance. The recently released X-758 represents an efficient battery driven CO detector, sensitive down to one ppm, in an affordable package for the smaller paint and body operator. New in 2006 was the X-144, a keyfob sized, full feature CO detector and dosimeter that can be placed inside a shroud or hood for on-site CO protection in a portable instrument. KWJ Engineering and SATA remain committed to improve gas monitoring and personal safety conditions in the body and paint industry.

MST: The originator of the catalytic CO filter for supplied-air breathing systems approached us 12 years ago for a CO monitor to verify that the air supplied to painters, sandblasters, and others working in unfavorable conditions is clean and complies with the 10ppm CO limit. This led to development of the Model 5700, on which all of our other compressed air monitors are based, and the one selected by 3M , our largest customer.

MEDCON: KWJ provides a number of medical gas pipeline air purity verification instruments for CO2, N2O, O2, and N2. A Low Pressure Gas Cylinder Alarm device was developed for bottled gas applications in hospitals, clinics, veterinary facilities, and nursing homes. MedCon is a leader in the medical gas verifier industry.

AMICO SOURCE: KWJ continues to provide an OEM CO monitor and alarm for integration into AMICO medical gas delivery systems.

Currently, our solid-state Pocket Platform and MEMS innovations enable >10X cost reductions over traditional sensing technologies and, when combined with its exceptionally low power requirements, opens up compelling opportunities to increase safety while reducing the end-users cost-of-use.
